I always wondered why photographers traveled to the Camargue area of southern France to photograph the white horses there. When I viewed images of these fabulous creatures I felt I had to see them for myself.
I went with a group of nature and wildlife photographers – very different than what I am used to traveling with. The horses in these photographs are all owned by farmers and stables; we rented them for shoots.
Even though they were tame as can be — eating french baguettes between runs thru the marsh, dunes or beaches — they frolicked and ran and pranced around majestically in the most beautiful light.
I was so taken by them and I hope I am able to show their true magnificence!
